Why is this not mine Wednesday

Dresses never used to be my thing. I was such a tomboy when I was little! Jeans and long-sleeve T-shirts for me, all day every day. And then something changed. But more recently, I've been wanting to trade in my pants for dresses. But not the short kind - knee length or a few inches above, so I can wear them to work!
Although it has been a trend for a year or two now, I've always had a penchant for the 50s and the typical attire of back then. But just the attire, not the housewife stigma stressed upon women at that time. I'm no raging feminist, but I'm all for women's rights. A friend posted a link to a dress on Facebook and after clicking the link, I found myself wishing my wallet was fatter and I wasn't so frugal and would shell out the dollah bills to purchase a large majority of dresses on that site. Here are my top three picks! (All images are from www.pinupgirlclothing.com)

That belt! The waist! The print!

I certainly don't have the oomph to fill out this one, but the straps are so perfect! And the color. It's my favorite! The A-line skirt portion is quite nice, too.
The collar! The sleeves! This final spot was a tie between this posted dress and this one. The stripes are killer! On second review, it's two separate pieces. Looks like I'm going to have to hunt down a black and white striped shirt!

  1. The styles are like dresses I wore when in high school and college in the 50s... but not the tattoos!
